Photobucket v Imageshack
For a long time now, I have used Photoshack to host forum photos. I have always found it rather slow and somewhat tricky to upload, but thought it was par for the course with free hosting. I've had trouble with drag and drop not seeming to work, trouble finding the links to the uploads, desperately slow response, borders appearing when I have not wanted them and the whole thing very confusing to use.
Recently I have given Imageshack a go and so far its been absolutely brilliant so far. You just drag and drop, it then present a list of the URL's for all of the images. I don't know how the available space compares, because I've not found any limits for either.

Has anyone else given up on Photobucket due to problem? I must admit once you get the files uploaded, it works well enough for those using the forum, unless the forum in some way buffers the external images.

I really like it Harry, I use the imgur app on my iPad, it uploads, then offers you a link to various sizes (medium works well on forums)
Direct link to the image with no clicks/adverts etc, and they don't delete old files either, which I think Imageshack used to do (not sure if they have stopped) Can comment on Photobucket as I havent for a long long time, as it used to degrade image quality during the upload process.

I have no problem with photobucket I have the app. on my iPhone, take the picture and upload to the album. It resizes the image perfectly for forum use automatically.

It is quite destructive of image quality though even at its best settings. Not really suitable for pixel peeping and sharing photographic work flow. Does the job perfectly for forum images and general snaps though

It's good enough for pictures taken on a phone camera, that's why it suits me. Also the ease of download makes it very handy while on the move..

I also use photobucket had a lot of problems when I first started but once I got the hang of things it has been fine and I doubt if I would change now
