Unhappy engine disabled

hi members
i have a problem as you may well gather! brieflly my problem is this i had a damaged ignition key fob with the guts exposed so i got a replacement case for it of ebay. it finally came well i was really chuffed with it so i set to work.got the innards out of my old key and blade and changed everything over no probs thought i. wrong!tried it out yesterday no trouble at all today it will not start.all i get in the display is engine disabled everything else ok so i disconnected the battery for thirty minutes reconnected still no luck tried all i could think of with the fob lock and unlock functions and even got the the cars original booklet and worked thru that still no go so anyone got any ideas that i can try? bearing in mind im not a technophobe nuts and bolts yeah electronics no i live in chesterfield so any ideas or assistance would be greatly appreciated.by the way car is diesel auto cheers guys

Did you swap the transponder chip as well? Little black/grey thing

As Ronnie says above, you must swap over ALL the parts from the fob, I've done this myself and had the same symptoms. :xmas-smiley-005:

just to add, the chip is in the back part of the fob , not with the circuit board!

You haven't transferred the transponder, the little bit arrowed in this picture


I hope you haven't thrown away the old casing yet.....

....If you have don't despair, give BigRuss a shout, and I'm sure he'll sort your problem out.
