Default Android Reset

Hi Sean and Jeff, can you please explain the difference or what changes between carrying out the "Factory reset" in the menu and the reset by pressing the button btm RH side of the DD HU.
If a Factory reset is done does it take it back to the original firmware or the updated one.
Thanks
Nigel

Hi Nigel,

Just quoting Jeff here,

The reset button under the knob is for if the unit locks up like on a pc.
A Factory reset attempts to roll the unit back to its factory default settings in case something has stopped working properly due to a conflict etc,
a bit like a restore point on a pc

Regards,

Marc

Thanks Marc, for your answer which certainly explains part of it, I asked the question due to my situation which is very similar to yours, I have just reinstalled IGO and find it works from the card only, I have a notice saying some data folders are missing (will have to make a note of them), I took the IGO folder out of the Hard drive before installing, so do I now do a factory reset to get the DATA folders back onto the HD to accept the IGO installation, if so, then there is the question of firmware. I have updated my firmware so will it revert back to the latest or earliest firmware. Or is there a way of getting the Data folder back without a Factory Reset, all good fun!
Nigel
Just checked what was missing, pulled out the SD card pressed NAVI and notice displayed, Missing or incomplete folder:/DATA/Data/COM. Navigo. IGO Javaclient/ licence.
