My dream car. One of my friends owned the car in the 1970s, and has fond memories of running it as his everyday car. He sold it because his children found it rather cold travelling in the back with the roof down. Apparently the A pillars were filled with molten aluminium in order to give the car greater rigidity.
I really like the look, particularly on the wires which the previous owner fitted to it. In terms of what's under the bonnet, the P6 was designed, in production form, to be a four cylinder (a Jet turbine originally, as T4), and the V8 was very much an afterthought. As nice as the V8s are, the 2000s handle much more sweetly, and a well set-up 2000TC is a brisk car. The P5 Drophead is particularly elegant as well, and I had the privilege of being allowed to sit in it, at last year's NEC Classic Motor Show. The car is now for sale.

Believe me, I'd never have trusted over that distance anyway.Great fun, but only on short trips.Having said that, it'd sit at 50/60 all day on the motorway.Amazing little engine,
