Sounds like your Amp is what is referred to as 'clipping'.. As you haven't changed anything else I would say the unit is U/S.... Send it back.

Hi,
The Kenwood 'Mask' head units were well known for their breaking of the ribbon connector that goes between the facia then into a roller/recoil mechanism before feeding into the main board. You say in the video that the screen goes off? If when that happens does pressing the ribbon bring the screen back? Also the same question for the sound? If it starts doing it try pushing the ribbon and see if it stops or gets worse. It could as Bill says be an amp fault but knowing these units from a few years ago the 'ribbon cable' was a well known fault with these. You would be looking at spending £30.00 to effect a repair on these which I'm guessing would not really be viable on a second hand unit. As Bill says, its faulty, send it back and get another one Let us know how you get on.
