Default bulb failure light wont go out

I disconnected my rear light one at a time to wire up my towbar using a relay I have had to lights on to check which wire is which so obviously the bulb failure light came on but now won't go out all light work I have had this problem when my bulb blew had to disconnect the battery. Googled it and other people have had the same problem I don't have info display so can't check with that surely you shouldn't have to disconnect the battery every time you replace a blown fuse

Don't understand having to disconnect the battery to clear a bulb failure warning, should clear when the bulb is replaced. Works by detecting a drop in the current drawn by the bulb, has been known to activate when a bulb is on the way out, before it's actually blown!

Don't want it to seem like I'm stating the bleedin' obvious but have you checked all the bulbs? Remember the tail/brake lights safety feature, if the tail light fails the brake light at that side comes on to compensate and vice versa. Number plate lights is another one that's often missed.

The number plate lamps as said are a common one, but it takes them both to fail before the warning will trigger in the dash.

Remember too, that even after you've replaced a bulb, the warning won't clear until that offending lamp is switched on once more
