Water water water
Good evening. I feel that I've been through so much with my Rover 75 in terms of water. I've had the sunroof drainage hosed fixed and it's not blocked and works brilliantly. I have sealed the rear light clusters.
However, two weeks ago the plenum chamber had an inch on water in it, so I have unblocked the drain there too. Right now I found water in the right hand side rear foot well. It's below the carpets. I have tested the sunroof drain, which works brilliantly and all the water come out on the outside of the car. The plenum chamber is very dry too. Yet the water is still there. Where could this water be coming from? Thanks ever so much in advance for all your help. Matt |

Have you checked the seal around the rear window? The clips that hold this in place can let water into the boot, so check and see if inside the boot is dry.
There is a very good explanation of how to fix this, with loads of pictures, somewhere on the site. Not sure where now, I came across it when searching for a fix as I had this problem. The water came in through some large cut-outs in the top of the boot, right and left side, so check the carpet under those. |

Not the rear window then.
The link is there though now for Rich's excellent tutorial in case you need it later! Good luck, I don't have a sunroof so don't know about rear drains for it |

Oh right okay, thanks anyway!
The car is a 2 L v6 saloon from 2001 if this helps? rear footwell on right hand side has water. it's spreading to the front. However, for now it's only in the right hand side. Could be related to me always parking with the right hand side a bit lower than the left hand side of the car. The boot is dry, I have lifted the rear seats up and it's also very dry under them so I don't really know what it could be :/. I only just cleaned the drain for the plenum chamber two weeks ago, could the water have come in from there before I cleaned the hose? |

Take the boot carpet out, and dust some talc about, then hose the car down, that will tell you if the water is coming from the boot.
Rear windscreen trim clips leaking mean the water can appear in strange places, in my car it was running down the inside of the D pillar and appearing under the rear seat. But appearing mainly in the boot near side and off side. |

A quick and easy remedy for leaking rear screen clips..
Simply cut a piece of half inch or inch tubing, attach to the end of a silicone tube. Place over the clip and apply silicon to each clip. The tube will keep the silicone in one place and dome the end of the clip. |
