Default Front discs and pads

Got a very minor high speed steering judder appear when braking.
Had mintex Pads and discs about 10k ago and this was the second set I have had on first set about 30k so getting about a year or so before the judder returns now on just over 50k.

Had front checked out completely nothing loose no play and no worn bushes arms etc...

Had a full align and tracking when had alloys refuted about 2months back.

Not sure what it would be other than just the cheaper discs and pads not lasting I am not a heavy brake person and don't make heavy demands of them.

So unless anyone has an epiphany for me I am going to get a new set of discs and pads.....

I can get oem MG Rover discs and pads for about £100 or just under.
I have looked @ aftermarket and MTEC discs in any grooved dimple drilled or plain config with black finish to prevent the rusty look ok & EBC green stuff or Brembo pads for about £120.

Any recommendations it's a 1.8T and don't want to do the 190 brake upgrade as don't need the extra stopping power

Cheers

Ash

I can happily recommend the "Mtech" products! go for the groved and dimpled ones with the black finish and you will have a usefull improvement in stopping power without doing the 190 upgrade!

HTH?

Cannot advise on the technicalities, but there has been fake Mintex stuff about in the past.
Also does the black finish avoid rust, I thought the black wears off to leave a disc like any other?, I might be wrong on this

Think it wears off where the pad touches but stays on everywhere else to stop the rusty edges etc....

Feeling MTEC & Brembo pads at the moment...
