IPK chip
I have obtained an IPK with no lines on the trip computer display, or it did not when I saw it working! However I believe in order to make it behave I need to swap a chip from my original to the new one. I can deal with SMD devices but need to know which one.

Although I am now wonding if theres a better way.. can it be programmed in situ using a SOIC 8 pin clip and a programmer? just take a dump (no thats not a joke!) of the original and transfer it, less messy and should work? I may have to experement with my spare IPK I have for just such research!

As Brian says above you can use a SOIC clip to transfer the data but it can be difficult sometimes the successfully transfer the data without error.
I much prefer to transfer the chip or reprogramme off the board as it's far more reliable Russ
