Message Center Replacement
Apologies if this is the incorrect section. Think it comes under ICE ?
The Message Center on my Dashboard is lined, like lots of failed vertical "strip lights". It's readable, but only just. (Does that make sense? If not I will stick a photo up). Is it possible to change it if I find a spare dash on ebay or in a scrappy? |

All other posts and info about message centre are in the tech help so I'll move it there for you. It'll get more attention anyway.

Unfortunately, second hand instrument packs (IPK's) are not easy to install because your cars milleage and VIN data is stored in them as well as a back-up of this data in the light module (seperate to the IPK). Changing one or the other of these components will cause errors in your cars odometer. Best thing to do is to try and replace the screen part only in your IPK to see if solves the problem. If it doesn't then it may be case of a new IPK - these are costly though and it will need to be a specific IPK for your car that will need to be programmed by a dealership/garage for it to function correctly. Sorry to put a dampner on things but there has been much talk of swapping IPKs on these threads before and so far no-one has been 100% succesfull in retro-fitting a second hand one Hope this helps! |
