Hi Derek,

Mis management by the previous government may be ( and governments of all persuasions before them too ) but my point is that all the people who put us in this mess are very wealthy higher rate taxpayers, and yet whilst we all go through pain and repay the deficit, they still seem to be very wealthy higher rate taxpayers, with the only change being their upper tax rate has been reduced to 45%, and made them better off.
Typical Tories gives themselves a tax cut while everyone else suffers and then pats themselves on the back for a job well done.

Its simply the conservative political viewpoint. The Republicans in the US do the same thing. Give money to the rich (or 'job creators' as they call them) by way of lower taxes, less worker rights etc and it will enable them to 'create' jobs for the the rest of us. Its a nice theory that just so happens to line their pockets as well...
