Default Heater blowing cold

I did the in-line thermostat mod using the Renault 5 stat. I lost a bit of coolant onto the floor, but topped up afterwards with about 1.5 lts.
The running temps are great now using OBD - 7 reading mid to high 80's peaking at 93 while waiting in a queue.
BUT the heater is bowing cold!! could this be an air lock? gonna go outside now and get her up to temp then try that bleed screw!

Sounds like it yes. Could be airlocked in the Heater Matrix.

Can be a problem when fitting an inline stat - it's not as easy to bleed the air out of the system.

Default coolant leak

Hmmmmm!!! I got a leak from somewhere between the top hose and block! plastic bit that top hose goes onto??? there seems to be another smaller hose coming off that.
Is it a big job to remove intake manifold to have a look at it

The seals can fail on the top hose to block connection - on mine the inner part of the casing had broken off.

Easy enough job to change. Didn't Arctic do a 'How To' with photos showing the removal of the inlet manifold?

Reg,

Stop! The bleed screw is for use when refilling with cold coolant. You should not open it when the engine is at running temperature.

The correct procedure is in Haynes.

Thanks Simon!!.
Great, found the "How To's"
Where did you get the seal/housing from?
What is the housing called?

FOUND IT on RimmerBros - Elbow assembly - Engine Coolant

Had that top hose to head connection replaced yesterday & yes the internal plastic that retains the seal was broken away, easy job to replace, the large & small pipes that fit to the plastic 'Y' piece have spring circlips, remove those & its still quite difficult to pull the pipes off but they will come off with a little persistence & a spray of wd40, make sure you thoroughly clean the mating surface & apply a little sealant, hope this helps, John
