Hello. The pin simply switches to a 10amp live feed, when the ignition is switched on. The INPA/Ediabas software that i mention looks for this as an ignition live signal, but if your generic reader is looking for an ignition live feed on this pin also, then yes, it could cause problems. Hope that helps.

I have an *.ipo test file for the R40 DDE that i have written. It's a bit rough around the edges, but has worked okay so far on my test bench. You are welcome to try it, if you want ...but it takes time to write this stuff, so please treat it with respect.

Add the *.prg and *.grp files to C:\Ediabas\ECU and the *.ipo file to ...\INPA\SGDAT - then create a shortcut on your desktop to the *.ipo file.
Hi Fal. Thanks for giving me those files.
Firstly, I have:-
EDIABAS 6.4.7 for win 32
INPA v5
I modified my EDIBAS cable to have a switch to short pins 1 & 16
I copied the 3 files as instructed.
I open the ipo file with the INPALOADER.EXE in the ..\INPA\BIN folder

and ......
the following errors appear:-
SYS-0012 - identification error : prog will exit (so click OK)
Required control DDE40KWO.PRG not found prog will exit (so click OK)Ediabas error #95 SYS-0005 (click OK)
Checking .PRG & .IPO versions - VERSIONS DO NOT MATCH. Language incorrect (click OK)
Continue scripting Yes / No?

Can you offer any advice on a fix for this?
BTW I don't get the car selection menu as you do for selecting the R40 etc.

thanks
Tony

It's a file that is missing from your install, but it appears that you have already fixed the problem by reinstalling.

No, you won't, as i have only given you the files for the DDE4 ECU for the R40 chassis. I custom build my own menus for additional cars, chassis and custom rework programs that i add to my own INPA program.

You're welcome Tony. I'm starting to realise that the 75/ZT is a much underated car and is a lot more sophisticated than some people may assume!

I believe the project was shelved, the risk of opening up the diagnostics program to people with no idea what they are doing could cause havoc and many ECU's/cars turned into bricks
