How can a car which went through a rather large puddle be a Cat B?
Cat B is cars which are too badly damaged and would not be safe to be back on the road, not a car which needs some new electrics!

I would think it is some freckled insurance paper pusher without much on top that has made this decision.
There obviously should be some criteria to follow for classifying a car as "b". Maybe just see if they have been followed. I doubt they could have, sounds to me more like an economic decision. |

Under damage it states Cat-B if a vehicle has been half submerged in water. |

It is obviously an economic decision in this case. It has nothing to do with safety.
"If the vehicle is put through a licensed or authorised salvage operator all parts may be sold, however the damaged chassis or bodyframe should be destroyed. The intent is to not return the car back to the road." This, is the structural part of the B cat. I would certainly look at putting the car back on the road. The car has no security issues at all, I presume, nothing bent out of shape?? |

Perhaps you could show LV the comments on this thread to let them see what the feelings are here!

Ditto on keeping us informed - shame to loose one esp if this is the only one (worth pointing out to LV? )
