I wish I'd never sold this:
1990 Eunos Cosmo Type S. Twin sequential turbos, 13b rotary engine. Smooth, silent and very, very fast. I just didn't get enough time to use it and couldn't justify keeping it to do 400miles a year so I sold it to someone better placed to enjoy it.

They certainly where TF - More importantly, you didn't need to stop at every petrol station to fill up like a Mustang I bumped into The (My) Cars original Owner one day, whilst collecting some parts for it from Toyota Dealers. He had a Silver GT Fastback at that time, he offered me a Grand for it (mine) on the Spot !!! Apparently it was his first car and he had owned it for the first half of its life before getting the Fastback Model. Small World......

Malcolm,
My first car was also a 1937 Morris 8 Tourer. I bought it in 1949 and ran it for several years. I've still got some photos somewhere. Colin S |

My old Mk V 1600cc Cortina.
That thing carried me between Benbecula & Barnsley more times than I care to remember, without missing a beat.

the 2 door had a very strange combination of upholstry, that resembled lace stiching into velour (at least the 2 i saw had anyway) they had pillerless doors and the back windows wound down to give that long sleek look. I liked them as well http://www.ncvc.org.uk/images/vehicles/BUR1_1.jpg There is a nice one on retro rides http://retrorides.proboards86.com/in...8478089&page=1

Great thread! Any excuse to get the pictures out!!
Standard 1986 Mini City sympathetically restored in 2000. One of the subtle things was where the CD player was, never seen it in the same place on any other one

Yes it did! Although I did get back what I payed for it after having it for two years, so no depreciation there then!
It was just circumstances, I moved home and needed a reliable car for a 40 mile daily commute. Couldn't afford to keep it as a second car (I was doing my PhD at the time, so not an actual paying job). Anyway, sold it to a man who was buying it for his daughter who had just passed her medical exams, so hopefully 'they' looked after it! It was certainly a one-off. I use to take it to shows and won a few trophies. I never saw them wheels on another mini too! The car was done by my friend, who works for a garage that does restorations, as his own project (for himself) before I bought it off him. He and his dad for instance made the dash and centre console, the 'turbo' box casing for the air filter etc. It was beautiful
