Question Odometer LEDS stays on

I have a strange problem that started on Sunday night.
After moving the car onto the drive, I noticed that the odometer, external temp and the trip odometer were still illuminated after the key was removed. I tried starting the car to see if that would clear it, but to no avail. Went out an hour later to see if they had gone out, but no they were still on, and they are still on!!!
All the functions still work as they should, the LEDS dim when you put the lights on etc.

I was thinking of disconnecting the battery to see if that clears it, are there any issues I should be aware of?

Anybody got any suggestions please??

Make sure you have your radio code - if there is one.

Are your plenium drains clear?

Not sure if I have a radio code as I have Kenwood unit, do they have radio codes? I have checked all my paper work for the radio and can find no mention of a code.
I have checked both side drain holes and they are clear, I have been not had the time to take the cover off to check the bottom one properly, but have managed to get my hand down from the drivers side and it feels dry.

Hi and welcome to our home

Don't know if its relavent but if you press the mileage reset with the ign off it brings up total mileage, trip mileage and shows what fuel you have left in the tank on fuel guage. No temp though. Dont suppose your trip reset button is stuck in?

I did check the trip button and it is not stuck, it reset ok, I did find my way into the diags etc while trying to clear the problem. All the functions work, service indicator, odometer, trip odometer etc, it's just that they stay lit once the key is removed.

Did the 3 pin reset (battery disconnect) today, so far so good the display now works as it should. Had visions of a very expensive bill.

Excellent news. Just remember with all this modern electronic technology a swift kick in the unmentionables (rebooting) is always worth first try.
