Default Engine Managment Light

Hi guys anyone hazard a guess as to the above light being on on my Zt 190+,
although the engine does run i have had 2 occasions in the past two weeks when i have had problems starting the vehicle ie turns over but will not fire.Would this log a fault in the ecu and so show by the light coming on.

I would expect a fault to be logged, but not neceesarily illuminate the light.

If the fault does not recurr (some faults) it should clear itself after a couple or so cycles of the ign sequence (the fault remains logged internally though).

I think the check engine light means "try and go to an MGR tech at your earliest convenience" and not a major catastrophe and "don't drive or I will throw a wobbly!" so driving to your dealer is fine

If you car is fully obd compliant then check engine mean the light has be lit by an error that for want of a better term "matters" HO2 sensor Cat, Emmisions that kind of thing as non OBD compliant stuff vis motors mafs etc don't set the Mil light

If you have a hand scanner like Ron was selling or for that matter any Elm scanner as they are all the same thing you wil be able to see what set it, fix the fault if necessary, and clear the code

Or just go and put the car on T4 somewhere!
