noisy aircon

Hi there
Thanks for your thoughts on my water leak and aircon noise
I tel local garage today Vikings at Westend in Southampton
they use to be a Rover Dealer and this is where the car was bought from new by the first owner I am the second owner
and explained it to them,they said bring it in this afternoon and
we will look at it and tel Nissan g.tee company.My wife took it
around to them kept it for a hour put some dye in coolant tank
but could find no leak or loss of water ? they said keep your eye on it
come back if there is loss of water
Air con noise they are not sure about they said bring it back when
it has got worse
They are intomorrow and have asked me to drop in so they can explain what they have done

What's the TXV valve? I've just bought my 75, and the aircon compressor makes a low pitched hum/groan type of noise*, which varies with engine speed. It might be normal, but I can certainly hear it and thought I'd ask.

*It's hard to describe, but if you make the inside of your mouth large, and close your lips into a smallish 'o' shape, and hum, it's a bit like that!
