Default Pie in the sky .

So the silverspoon tories decided to drop the hot pie tax , if it's not bad enough we pay tax on nearly everything we use they wanted to tax the lunchtime snackeroonie , out of touch with everyday people and fed with a silverspoon as children they truly belong firmly in the past .

Poll tax and pie tax , quite a legacy .

The so called Poll tax was a simple idea, if you lived in a particular area then you should put some money towards the facilities and infrastructure of that area on the basis that you would use it more than another area. The more you earned the more you payed. This was instead of Council Tax which is absurdly based on the size of your house. It was nicknamed the "Poll Tax" because it was taken from the Electoral Roll. This meant students should also pay (and why the hell not!) and, of course, it was the students that rioted. A tax based on what you earn is a pretty fundamental socialist ideal.
As for the pie tax, how else are we going to pay for the NHS, Armed Forces, Schools, Police, Fire, Roads and all the other nationally owned services that we take for granted and use every day but don't want to actually part with any of our own money to pay for.

No, I have absolutely no time for any of the current crop of any political persuasion. You can't slot a cigarette paper between policies of the left or the right. But I am blessed with some common sense tho' which would make me a great benevolent dictator.
