Now its Fit Notes not Sick Notes
Strange after we had a thread running about Sick and being at work...............
Employee "fit notes" are to be introduced as part of Government efforts to cut the amount of money lost to the economy from Workplace absenteeism. GP's will spell out those tasks that workers can perform, rather than the traditional "sick note" focusing on being unfit for work or what they cannot do. There will also be more support for "sick" people back to work with firms encouraged to promote healthier living. A report in March warned alleged ill health was costing the economy £100 billion Pounds a year. Sick pay shouldn't be paid by employers for first 7 working days absent, it has been mooted. Yet another ill thought out hair brained scheme!
How long will it now take doctors to write out what you can and can't do? I can see it now, "Hello I'd like an appointment to see a doctor please" "Certainly Sir, Next March at 10.30?" Beggars belief really |
