Can I ask a question? Will a MG TF 1.8 136 engine fit an MG ZT 1.8 118 ?
I've found a low mileage TF and need to know if there are any issues with making the swap? Things like ECU, the odd bolt holes, hoses and fittings etc. I know that the TF has lower torque low down in the range. At this stage I am just thinking about fitting the block as I have a crack in one of my current liners.
Thanks, Steve. |

The only difference between a 135 TF engine and a 118 Rover engine are the camshafts, throttle body and manifold, it's basically a standard 1800 engine fitted with two VVC exhaust camshafts The MEMS3 will adapt quite nicely Brian |

Thanks, sorry for taking so long to reply. You don't happen to know any good sources of 2nd hand engines. The breaker that has a TF engine I was interested in can't supply any docs that prove its only done 16000 miles.
Thanks, Steve. |

Probably not helpful, but there's no need to search only for TF engines.
Much easier to just buy a standard 1800 and then swap the camshafts over. |

All I was saying is you don't need to only search for 135 engines...
Quick eBay search reveals loads of standard 1800s.... |

If there's nothing wrong with your current engine, just look for some cams no need to swap engines.
