Got a key problem.......
We recently had a bit of a disaster with the wife's ZT......The only key we had has gone on the missing list. Now I know we should have got a spare sorted ages ago, but we didn't and now it looks like we have a major problem.
Last week I got a mobile locksmith out to sort the problem and he was able to get into the car OK, and cut a new key. However, when he tried to match the new key to the car his equipment showed that all ten of the key "slots" on the system had been used and that meant that he could not provide us with a new key..... Is it possible to "free_up" slots or are we completely stuffed? The car is a 53 plate and I really can't spend a small fortune on it at the moment. Feel free to flame me for not buying another key sooner........ |

You will need a set of THESE five point security bits to remove your EWS3 immobilser and either one or more new key transponders can be programmed to it
The EWS3 is bolted to the drivers side A-pillar behind the light switch, the bit required is TS30 Brian |

Even if the locksmiths scan of the EWS is saying that all 10 positions have been used? |

At least you can get into the car so all is not lost, in your case it sounds like your only option is to post your immobiliser to one of the guys that do keys, I drove my car to a guy to have a key sorted recently to avoid exactly the problem you have now, but you are not totally stuffed AFAIK, if you lost your key, how did you get another cut?
