Question New tyres - which make!

In the process of re-booting my tourer with a set of good quality tyres, I have been quoted just under £70 each for Pirelli P6 but before I do, what recommendations/experiences can anyone give on other makes! and what tyre was originally fitted by Rover when new!
My thanks in advance

Always fit the best tyres you can afford, as they are the only things that keep you and your loved one's on the road!

You don't say which size you have on your car, so unable to make a recommendation!

Sorry about that:-

195/65R 15 three 91H and one 91V and all different makes! this is the reason for a re-boot, along with cracked front tyres.

To be fair, providing you stick with a "Name" brand, don't think you can go far wrong!

I've always had good results on Goodyears, but I'm sure that Michelin, Bridgestone, Continental, Pirelli, Dunlops etc, are equally as good!

Just remember the old adage, "You get what you pay for" and it's never truer than with tyres!

For many years I used Goodyears but this time I have gone for Avon ZV5. They were slightly cheaper than Goodyear and so far I am well pleased.

I have Goodyears. A few weeks back I took an unfamiliar corner a bit too fast. I am sure it was the tyres that stopped me going over the curb and through a wall. Thought about budget tyres for when I renew but that experiance will make me stick with the same make. Ok so I am talking just over £400 all round but that would have seemed like peanuts if my car was sitting in the middle of that wall

Hi Windrush.

I agree I have just put a full set on my alloys. from merit tyres. over the phone he quoted 238.00 for the set ZV5,s and gave me a ref number. went there and was told 70 quid a tyre gave him the ref number. and yep got them for 238 all in. I chose these because they had rim protectors.

Tyre choice is completely down to budget and what the everyday use of the car is.The price you say for Pirelli's at a guess these will be for 15'' wheels.

The make is a premium brand and the tyres will perform accordingly.I recently fitted a set of P6000's to my wife's car,and pleased with the results.

Ditto these 225 x 45 x 17 P6000 have ticked all the boxes for me and because their non directional you can swap them about from side to side if you like.
