Just been given 6 bottles of Henry Weston’s, 3 of the bottles are of the 7.% variety. If you don’t hear from me for awhile then you will know why.

Grandson collection duties this afternoon. (Note to self - turn hearing aids down!)
SWMBO had a problem with the Polo seatbelt not releasing from the pillar yesterday, so stripped off all the cover trim and blasted out all the fluff (where does it come from) and sprayed silicone in and around the roller/locking mechanism, after slowly unrolling it by hand (finger and thumb actually). It now works perfectly again. (Thankyou to whoever it was on t'internet for the "cure"!) Not sure if it's a permanent fix but time will tell. Stay cool (and hydrated) folks.

Keeping cool isn't a problem here, some sun but a lot of cloud hanging around. Supposed to be light rain/drizzle later.

Way more bearable today with a good breeze blowing. The rain doesn't look too far away too. I noticed the first ripe tomato in the greenhouse this morning & I tipped a 30ltr bucket of charlotte spuds out, Happy with those & they've only been in just over 12 weeks.

Hmm . . . . I was going to water the garden but according to the current weather its supposed to be light rain now and heavier rain to come. Might hang off a bit.
Bleedin' rain waited til I nipped down to the garage to get something then the heavens opened with a real heavy blatter. Soaked coming back in Last edited by stevestrat; 27th June 2024 at 13:36.. |

Rain didn't last long enough to do any good so had to water the garden anyway
Sadly while doing so discovered the remains of a young rabbit in the front garden. No doubt what happened to it, there was what Google told me is a fresh fox poo within 12" of it. Probably only happened this morning, still "fresh". Get a lot of rabbits on the grass outside the cottages, especially mornings and evenings Had a buggeration moment earlier, found out the bottom of the shed door frame is rotten, brick built "shed". Found out because the hinge pulled out of the wood Might do a temp repair by placing a hinge a bit higher, in the good wood for now. |

Yesterday because of the riots in Nairobi, we stayed in. We had to cancel our appointments for Physio. We heard 23 people died in the protests, so we decided not to chance it. The mob was throwing rocks and stones at cars being driven, so didn’t want my back windscreen smashed. We heard how snipers were on the tops of buildings taking out looters, suspects and trouble makers. The government are trying to put an end to judiciary executions, as its not very good for tourism and human rights. We also heard how scores of police were injured by the mob. On checking local news, the city was quiet last night with no more shootings. Hopefully a sign the mob has been frightened off by the heavy presence of the police and army. They have got what they want, no new finance bill and no new taxes, a high price to pay with the loss of life. We are checked in online and will be taking a taxi to the airport early tomorrow morning. We expect to be stopped and searched on the way and have our ID’s and tickets checked, it’s normal. Then after checking in the luggage we are planning on having a cooked breakfast in the Java restaurant whilst we wait boarding. Take off is planned for 08:55 and I have booked two seats with extra leg room and extra recline on Kenya Airways, Boeing 787-8. Most of their 787’s are 8-10 years old. The flight is direct 9h 15 Thank you very much for the Elon Musk Starlink link. How really very kind and thoughtful of you to think of that. Have a great day.
