Default Spark plug questions!

I'm thinking of changing the spark plugs on my 1.8. Service history tells me they were last changed back in June 2007 at 49,200 miles. The car has now done 64,200 miles. Do you think a change would be beneficial at this stage? If so, I'm thinking of fitting these:

Could someone please recommend the correct type of spark plug spanner to use for the job, as I dont have a spanner at present?

I understand there are just 3 bolts/screws to remove on the cover to get to the plugs - is this correct?

Many thanks,

David.
