Bigger Brother
The future is upon us. The latest driving control to be taken out of the driver’s hands is the advent of a remote haptic feedback system which relies on the accelerator pedal being prevented from allowing the car to be driven entirely at the will of the driver.
It consists of a restoring force pushing the driver's foot gently back when speeding although this, presumably, can be overridden by the driver. It’s to be applied to all new cars manufactured in Europe (and UK). It might, just might, be inoperative on police/emergency/medical vehicles. Oi vey, where’s my bike. So, not only can your EV (there will no new ICE cars) be totally electronically tracked wherever you go (and recorded), you can now be fined for speeding, or any other traffic ‘offence’, remotely. The haptic system will, of course, allow any vehicle to be tracked whether speeding or not. We have had the best of it. Land of the Free?
