Default Brake fluid level switch - how to replace

Hello,

I’m trying to get to the brake fluid level switch to test it. There appears to be an access panel in front of the brake servo. I’ve removed the six screws with great difficulty. The panels is free but for whatever reason won’t lift out. The connector to the switch seems to be held in position by a wire clip. If I could remove the clip, I could at least unplug and short the pins to see if my brake issue clears.

Has anyone ever replaced a switch on a V6 model? Any words of wisdom greatly appreciated.
