Default Day time running lights

Hi, I have been toying with the idea of fitting DRL's to my 03, pre facelift DCTI , And I was thinking, rather than fitting them into my fogs, why not, remove the chrome side strips either side, and fit lights into that either by making up a fibreglass mounding ,mounting a strip of lights into that, or by if using separate small lights, possibly drilling into the chrome strip anyone got any ideas ? I would imagine it would be easy enough to make a wooden former, to match the chrome finishing strip with a flat section to take a block of lights or to using plaster of Paris, to use a chrome strip to make a mould and then to make a moulding, which could always be sprayed to match body colour, Whats your thoughts ?
