Thanks Mangoman - the under tray is indeed there and in place (all 10 screws present and correct) - again, I wonder if there was more soundproofing on the under tray in earlier cars. The tray on my current late 75 seems a bit lighter and not as heavy as on my 2001 car, if I recall correctly.
