Pride of Longbridge Ralley - Pictures
The Pride of Longbridge Rally was a great success with at least 200 and probably more cars ranging from the early 1900's, Austin's up to the last 75's, MG TF's and the spectacular X_Power sports cars.
The Lord Mayor of Birmingham headed the procession with William Riley the recently announced "saviour" of the MG-X-Power marque in his Silver X-Power sports car. The route chosen took the rally past the old Longbridge works to Cofton Park, where the cars were arranged and displayed by type and age. The sun shone for most of the day, and a good time was had by all. Some photos of the event are attached. One of the oldest cars in the rally The Lord Mayor of Brum, bags a ride with William Riley An All-agro with the bonnet up, nothing new there then! You see your first X-Power MG, then a whole load come along together Classic Looks Another old banger (oops!) and the good lady wife The second area starts to fill Beautiful P5 Looking down the hill My new mate Bill, or as he described us “The Michelin Men” My 75 2.0 CDTi, one of the last production cars from longbridge All together now, ooooohhhh! The view up the hill Other Rover Clubs in attendence "Phoenix never said anything about these when they dumped the TF on us!"
