I've had my ZT-T cdti for 18 Years and only had the normal pad and disc change plus servicing, a couple of bulbs here and there, until this week, Airbag light has come on, the ipk is like a disco flashing various warnings including engine check, pad wear ( all new ) headlight bulb etc everything appears to be working ok but the warnings just keep coming, 6" rust hole rear drivers lower sill, I suppose any normal person would get rid of it, but I've never been normal, and I would feel like I'm putting down an old dog, so investigating starting, already booked it in to get the rust sorted next week.

Default Today I...

I went under the ZT today for the first time in ages, it's not been on the road now for 11 years but is stored quite well. The nearside rear sill is showing the blistering around the jacking point so I need to get that sorted, it seems like no matter what, they will corrode in that area, there's no way that water has been getting in so it must be dampness from the moment they're welded together. The rear chassis outriggers are showing signs of rusting and will also get treated. I'm hoping to repaint the car over the winter and get all that new stuff going on it, the interior is almost done with the new soundproofing in place and everything except the drivers seat back in. It sounds much quieter in the cabin now and I quite like it that way, the noise of my youth isn't needed in a car these days.

Dear friends,

On Tuesday I am planning to get my car back from its MoT. I am not sure that my car will last another year.

I have had a couple of annoying rattles on the underside of my V8 ZTT, while I was servicing it today I did some poking about and found a couple of heat shields had broken away from there mountings, some large penny washers and no more rattles .

What surprised me was the mounting bolts just undid, I was expecting snapped bolts and all the pain that goes with that. They went back in with some copper grease so will come out again if I need too.

Not today, but yesterday at the West Midlands Nano Meet, Trebor,Rob, Took the top off the fbh and removed the card with all the electric operational gubbins on, because on Thursday it decided not to start up. Good job I tried it out on the way home from my friends house, because on the way home I thought ‘this is not working’. Hopefully it will be working again soon.
