Endoscope - See inside sills
Following on from 'Blinks' thread about using a endoscope inspection camera to see inside sills, I thought I would have a look inside mine. The images are not the best quality, but you would for sure see any rust that was present deep inside.
I'm glad to say my sills on my 18 year old ZT seem to be free from rust, but I've only had a quick look; I will have another look once I find the rest of my endoscope kit. Last edited by Dallas; 15th September 2019 at 17:14.. |

That looks excellent considering how old the car is. Wonder if it is testamount to the build quality or just that it has not been anywhere with a lot of water on the road. Never the less, it is very good.

Thanks fellas, I didn't know what to expect but it all seems fine and dandy in there.
Once I find the rest of the kit, I will go exploring some more; you can record video as well... |

There's a big rubber grommet behind the wheel arch liner - one at each end of the sill. Or there are 12 holes under the chrome sill finisher (but you'll break the clips!). Or the 5 drain holes, but I'm not sure how much you can see from these with an endoscope.

I thought I would try the inspection camera on the double din unit, I found the DD supports OTG, so the endoscope was plug and play.
I installed the CD software using the APK installer. Last edited by Dallas; 15th September 2019 at 16:51.. |
