Unable to find switched live in under bonnet fuse box :(
I am trying to find a "switched live" in the under bonnet fuse box of my ZT-T 190+ MK2 but have been unsuccessful.
I need the switched live/ignition live to feed a DVR (dash cam) at the back of my tourer. If you have ever drove your car in The Netherlands you should understand the need for it I have a feed running from the engine compartment to the back of the car. Earth is taken at the back of the car from the bracket that holds one of the sound system modules. Searching this forum I found a number of threads that indicate fuse 4 as the fuse that is switched. It did look that way. When I first put my multi meter on fuse 4 it showed no voltage so I piggy bagged the fuse and connected the dash cam. After turning the key to acc or ignition the dash cam turned on. Progress I thought But after removing the key the power stayed on and the dash cam would not switch off. I waited for about 3 minutes. Again using my multi meter it seems that all fuses have power. I tried fuses 1, 2 and 3 with the same result. I must be doing something wrong but I can't figure out what that is A picture of the fuse box and the (not-connected) piggy bag fuse holder: Which fuse should I be using?

You are correct with fuse 4 ( second one dpown on the right as you look at your photo) but whilst diesels cut the power after around 15 seconds it appears on the V6 petrol models it is live for around 5 to 10 mins after removing the ign key.

Thanks! I will try and let you know! 5 to 10 minutes... what were they thinking?

The 1.8's Fuse 4 remains powered for exactly 5min after ignition off, so I'd guess all petrol models do.
Several parts of the system are the same. The overheat/heat soak cooling fan for example. TC |

I forgot about the cooling fan. So they were thinking and thinking right
Still two to eight minutes to see if the dash cam switches off

Around 5 minutes it is! Dash cam switched off so fuse 4 is the fuse to use.
Thanks Dave and TC!

As it so happens I am planning to install DRL's next weekend. I was planning on connecting them to the same fuse as the dash cam but having my DRL's on 5 minutes after I turn off the car is not very appealing. So I'd be more than curious which wire you used (as in colour and location ).
