Query about a FBH water pump
Is it possible to fit a separate water pump to use with a webasto FBH if the pump on my FBH has gone faulty?
spares seem very expensive compared to the price of a second hand unit. This car is costing a lot of my time and far too much money. Used the car both days this weekend and missed the FBH. macafee2 |

If it's very very vital you have a working FBH, and I must admit even in the coldest reaches of northern England, mine hasn't fired up since last week due to the ambient not have fallen below 5 deg, take a look HERE Is it definitely the water pump, and not the PCB, remembering you can always substitute one from your known working FBH, then that is one easy way to move forward. at the moment I have no idea what the problem is. The FBH shuts down at 2 minutes 6 seconds or there abouts. I have moved the pcb to a working FBH and still it wont fire up. I don't want to move the working PCB across in case I screw that too. The fan seems to be working. I will re-measure the resistance of the glow plug to see if that shows anything. I will put 12v across the water pump to see if I can hear it working. Once these two tests are done I'll go from there. I'll take a look at your link, thank you macafee2 |

The water pump on mine stopped working soon after I fitted it.
I bought one on eBay for £22, and it is exactly the same apart from the inlet pipe pointing down instead of sideways. When the pump arrived I found that I could have swapped the bottom part over if I wanted, but I decided not to simply because I didn't have a new o ring and didn't want to risk a leak. Instead, I used a curved section of rubber piped that I had saved when I fitted the FBH. I had to fit a plug onto the wires as the new pump has a plug socket and not directly wired in.
