The Swagon
I'm rather new to this forum and the wonderful world of 75's and ZT's, but since I jumped in at the deep end buying one I might as well jump in at the deep end with my plans to modify my new 75.
2002 2.5 V6 manual Tourer in JFM Royal Blue, 111'000 miles and I paid £1500 for it with a tank of fuel and 13 months MOT with no serious advisories. Not too shabby for the condition it's in. I've dubbed it "The Swagon" So being 20 the first thing I did was whack an enormous eBay air filter on it and pressed every button. The new gear knob arrived in the post this week To Do List: Repair/replace VIS motors Oil and filter change Purchase e46 coilovers Purchase and modify e46 camber adjustable top mounts Purchase and hope that e46 drop links will fit Fit coilovers + gubbins Re-trim door card fabric, suggestions welcome Fit silly gear knob Refurbish front seats to restore colour Improve interior lighting Choose carpet material Purchase wheels, 17 or 18 inches, 9j/10j wide, 3SDM 0.01's maybe?suggestions welcome Upgrade speakers, possible sub install in spare wheel well Upgrade headunit DONE Fit later type projector headlights Build and fit exhaust, side exit or rear bumper side exit Hardcore polishing sesh Repair minor paintwork dings I'm wanting to liven you boring old farts up a bit I got my Rover 45 *out there* and got much praise and enjoyment in doing so. It's been featured on countless Facebook pages, several websites and has won a couple of awards in its time including "Lowest car" and "Most original vehicle". I think the 75's need some love, I've never seen anyone do anything to what is actually a fantast platform. I'll be sticking with a sort of gentlemanly theme to go with the car, so plenty of leather, wood and velour. I think a cigar humidor in the boot next to any subs/amplifiers in a nice walnut housing of some sorts could be pretty fun and cool. I will be posting regular updates here. Keep an eye on this thread, should be a good one! |

I'm really impressed with the levels of support on here, even the 75 specific headunits and stuff like that.
Quite a lot more helpful than the .org forums, useful since I bought it having absolutely no idea what I was doing. |

A little disrespectful don't you think? Remember, when you have a problem with your car,it may well be,one of the "boring old farts" who helps you out! There's nothing wrong with modifying your car as you wish, just be a little more respectful of the members please |

Fathead!
Good to see you on here - always followed your 45 with interest. I used to be mattyprice4004 on here and 'the other side'.

Yeah the previous owner said he cleaned them out with a jet washer, what should I know about the handbrake compensator? I notice it seems to hold better on the passenger side...
My uni housemates think its hilarious, it looks like I've nicked my granddad's car |
