Default Real world value of ZT 260

I have noticed there's a low mileage (around 29k miles) 04reg Zt260 on eBay for 7000 quid, and there's also 04reg Aurora ZT with 52k miles for about 8000 on Autotrader. I asked my colleague in sales department to give me approximate value of the ZT260 SE on 04reg and surprisingly the best price for a very clean one was 3950 pounds! 7000 seemed a fairly good price for the car, but how am I supposed to spend 7 grand on a car that my colleague would sell for 4500, max for 5000?

Simple if you don't have your own mind, don't buy it. Buying the car has never been economic

I assume what Tim is trying to say is that you buy one for the enjoyment and not for the resale value....nevertheless I suspect the values will slowly start to increase again as the years go by...

Hhmmm...

That was more diplomatic Zeb.

Was a bit short Michal, sorry for that. At the end of the day its your decision, if you are struggling with the economics at this stage perhaps the car is not for you. The running costs are the highest of all the 75/ZT's closely followed by the ZT190 and 180. Your mates opinion needs to be taken under advisement I think.

Thing is I was never too good with economizing my money, buying with my heart and as my missus says I'm a master of propaganda as I can always make her let me buy stuff, whether it's a car which is overpriced or an av receiver worth £1.5k for a 3m x 3m room with speakers for 2 grand and she's an accountant...
The problem is I've got too many hobbies, I want to upgrade a camera and one lens can cost more than 2k, buy new hifi and a v8 before they ban them...
My father's driving a Mustang V8 convertible '69 and I miss that sound so much. I bought my CDTi and it's a good car (apart from leaking clips under rear screen) but want something with more character...
Uff...
So now, please tell me. How much is 04reg car worth? I know it's more than £4k in a seller's book, but is 7-8 grand adequate or it should be closer to 6 grand?

I would say, roughly, between £5500 and £9000 should get you something that'll make you smile... This is based on my own research in recent times.
