using an endoscope to check slave
As far as I can tell, you cannot use a endoscope to check for a leak on the clutch slave of a diesel. No idea about petrol.
There are two holes under where the gearbox/bell housing and engine meet. I had hoped to poke the endoscope up inside the holes and have a look around and look at the salve but... the clutch or DMF is in the way. naught word naughty word naughty word. macafee2 |

Hi Ian.
I'm sure the two holes are created by a rubber grommet in a larger diameter hole in the bell housing. If you can find a way to hook the grommet out without damaging it, perhaps you could still use the endoscope? |

You don’t need to look at the slave directly, just see if there is any signs of fluid working it’s way downwards.

I have bled from master to joint and from the slave to the joint. With the joint apart I could not press the clutch pedal down, so I don't think fluid is getting back past the plunger in the master cylinder. I have managed to move the car and so for the moment the clutch is working but I'm not confident the issue was air in the system. macafee2 |
