Default A beautiful CDTI saloon

And in my favourite colour too.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3021542380...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Does anyone want to buy my very tidy Rover 45 td?

I can't justify to myself having six cars between myself and the Mrs but I could justify staying at 5.....

Autos are for 55+ year old oldies.

Oh no, that's me!

Never mind, I still prefer a manual - must be young at heart.

We just bought the Irish version of that car

Slightly higher mileage than the one in the ad, but slightly higher spec too.

Also not an auto

The wheels are amazing.

It has some toys I've not had before like the parcel shelf blind.

It also had more water trapped in the plenums than any 75 I've ever seen that hasn't drowned the ecu.

I could have bathed in it

Looks a nice car, and untill you check the MOT history out and it appears that somebody might be making the service history up ??? because it certainly doesn't tally up with a car that has very poor MOT testing results, I mean advisories nearly every time the car is tested, and on some occasions the advisories clearly have not been done, if the services are supposed to have happened I can't see it myself.

Interestingly, I checked out the MOT history prior to starting this thread. The opinion that I formed was one of an owner who will pay to have items fixed, over and above basic servicing, only when absolutely necessary.

Not addressing advisories around slightly corroded brake pipes and pitted but not seriously weakened brake discs is nothing that is unheard of even amongst this forum community. These items would not normally be replaced as part of "normal servicing".

If I was to purchase yet another 75, it would have to have the basics right - clean interior, excellent bodywork and mechanicals that are generally sound. All this can be achieved with little more than yearly oil and filter changes.

Any mechanical shortcomings can be easily sorted for say £2k on top of the purchase price provided the basics are capable of producing an outstanding car.

I did message the seller earlier asking whether he would scan and email me the bills for services etc. We shall see whether there is a response.
