Default Nature Always Wins.

I'm not a photographer by any means and I only have a pocket-sized Toshiba camera but sometimes I take a photo and I think "Yea, that's not bad". The lighting is just right, the subject is interesting and/or incongruous, by some miracle I have managed to get it almost in focus etc. I think this was my favourite from this year. It probably wouldn't win any photo competitions but I like it.

I wonder when the last train ran on that track ?

Great capture.
The best camera in the world is the one you have with you at the time

It's the Stoke-Leek line on the North Staffordshire railway and according to Wiki the last train ran in 1988. The bridge in the foreground crosses the Caldon Canal which is where I was on my narrowboat at the time.

Thanks for the info.

It’s pretty unusual to see the track still there on a disused line.

Yes, for some reason its status seems to be "mothballed" rather than closed. Part of the track has been restored and currently operates as the Churnet Valley Railway.
