Default Navall Extras Compatability

I currently have the Navall 3, previously owned the Navall 1 and the WinCE unit.

With my Navall 3 I have the wireless reverse camera, the DVB-T and the DVR and should I wish to trade in for a newer model, would I simply choose a new unit and retain all the extras or would I need to replace them too?

The bootlid mounted camera was very involved to fit in the first place and removing all my interior trim to strip out all the extra wiring is not something I want to ever do again.

I have a Navall Eclipse now after my Nav 3 so I can only offer this advice.
  1. The wireless reverse camera should be OK as the wiring is the same, it pretty standard for this camera on most units.
  2. The DVR on the Nav 3 had a unique camera with its own plug, the Eclipse and others use USB so you would have to replace that.
  3. If the DVB-T is USB then it should be OK.

I have changed my Navall 3 for a Comet unit. Aircubs comments re the Eclipse apply equally to the Comet (ie rear camera OK and DVR uses a USB). I have not got a DVB T unit but I have noticed on Radioguys web site that the Navall 3 DVB-T is labelled as for Navall 3 only and there is a different one for later units

Pretty ridiculous really tbh. You spend all that money only to find the bugs never get fixed as the firmware update never arrives and then low and behold a new unit comes out, and none of the accessories fit the NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- thing.

Never again

It has always been like that, the Chinese very rarely update their devices just bring out a new one.

HI Alan
Sorry you feel that way . Its things progressing.
With all due respect.... I have a question, If you do not mind. Just meant to address the comments.......The Navall 3 is from 2014.
If you bought a 2004 Ford Mondeo
And you bought a 2007 Ford Mondeo , you would expect all of the parts to fit and plug and play?

You can purchase Uniform , not from the same factory DVR's and DVB's which all work via the AUX ports.
Also this is why we have the trade up program . To limit the investment to upgrade. We are the only ones that do that. Its odd to me that people have a problem paying to keep up with head unit technology but will pay much more to do the same with mobile phones or Computers.

regards

Sean
