Handbrake (Stainless Steel) Modification
Hi this is a message about the Stainless Steel handbrake compensators i modify, which will not stretch or snap but keep your handbrake in good order once it as been set up.
From Monday 07/01/2013 i will be limiting the amount i send out, this is partly due to rising costs of materials and postal charges also other considerations, the amount will be 20 per month, also the last day i will post out each week is Thursday morning so the compensator will reach the member for the weekend to fit as i have found this is the best time for members to do the modification. I must also have your forum and full name & address sent to my email address once contact as been made by me, so i can keep some sort of order of whom as returned the old compensators. As this is now a new start of ordering i would appreciate it if you could use this thread as a reply for interest and pm if you wish to obtain one the other thread will still be picked up by me so no worries there. http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...16&postcount=1 I am also considering later this year supplying these at nano meetings only where i can assist members in the fitting on the compensator that gives me the ultimate tab on the where abouts of the old compensators and cuts out the postal costs. I thank you all for your co-operation in this task Arctic. Modified Compensator Returns List To all members whom have had a modified compensator sent to them on the exchange scheme with me please remember i must have your old one back i understand you may not have had time to fit the modified compensator yet but those who have, i/we need these to be returned so this mod can carry forward for others i thank you all for your co-operation and it is most appreciated Cheers Arctic. Thank you to those below which have stuck to the plan and returned their old compensators. radi8or hinged-bap Lathbury Catex handyjackdaniels silver surfer Lucky Boy rik007 Vmax1000 Touchstone Courier118 damienp Dashiell Simpsora Robzilla Mr. Malcolm. tammyboy 75Ken x 2 jumper rover CDTi wuzerk firefrost davy2xl suzublu 1powerrack cusm K£l50N Armoredbrummy XANADU ronbax Angler5988 Topgear16 susiecooper Auto-Tat NEILD jontyp Stevesav poppy Nomad Ragman MN190 ceetdm superheavy120 Keith O'flinn ched Graham4Brown Bazman Jay Kully MalteseMarc dsteph steve916 Falcon flyer Sturmonk ROD1 mamasboy canonite JEK paddyflan SapperGB FLYER Thorfin Hodgy G20STU allegroman tony48 rich1786 heathernstewart jubby Falcoron Garysnr TEZ 75 Geordiebuoy Jon ball Rob howarth Mofo Stro Colin Gerrish baileyda123 Mike Robinson Colin Ellis Topgear16 carguy143 munroman Entitysuperdavid Dragrad Paras659 jules nobby09 Donald M Uggababy Anthony Osbourne JB Tourer x 2 bikerdave Mikec Chris77 Topman Madmitch Shullaknights Richard Garner Vaultsman champion daddy Kate Streatfield Jules neilbaker86 Klaus Germany Patrolmanpete MikeJohn Rachel G Peter A Pepsimcm Flinstone Pete66 Reworht Uncle Buck Alan H Dr D Simm PEJO Peter Harrison Madmitch extra one Dan-Storm Monkeyboy Nigel SCFC Jimbob201 TOMY Drewbie Vindaloo neilbaker86 BRM494 Dufour Frisbydoo Beejay John91919 SSmith Frana Flying Banana Ray C333 Blacksmudge Jan-peter Nigel Gair Luckybag Markvh Stagn8 boater VXman StevieB82 Bruno1926 John A Rewortht junior toon Brassy Tricky2 RayC333 1234dist Mr-Shed Havefun JonJon77 Phili12 RoryRover ericdraven73 sadler Sigor RWShafto Baughurst Jules Tnarg Richard1973 Pal Foder Nigel Wynne r44flyer RamseyMGR Tootall thecrofter John E triker62 Flash Harry Peter-plowman MartynNW sofoo7 MGstephen 5AMP Rossocorsa MrLongbeard Yellowztt rupertbear Geordie jon Bolin VHPD-Metro robsybaby Ginge1001walking Slydog WelshphilZ805 T140Pete Tony40cor oldengaerde Aleden dallcorp chas2008 lionel 1946 johndonwar Torch cardiffian GJ Bridges P french humphshuphs Caddyman Haydenukhayden 5kippy Alan-G Grumpyshouse J Lindley babrat61 vindaloo rosebank treyarnon zeek Steedy Eddie KC13661 Richy C RE-Tread J Pilky barry1k Mynah Grandy Tony322401 mbreen twh Allan T stux99 valleygixer Dogcairn dartrivet bprepared brgcdti Dhowell1972 miss moppet hamillr5011 Smiler Johnb1959 P5TGC TommyD Jamfortea Dean36014 218VVC Hank H Baughurst Scott M SkinnyL Adijmason Albert Tatlock D Bushwacka old man rover Minty Buster12Prg2382 bernieM Davy Huddie SteveHarvey2001 Trimani HN02VDG Taxi-Dermist SkinnyL MG TOM Racerock3 PMB Baughurst Ged57 Wardie 75 Tourer Reluctantmech

Thanks
Big thank you to Roy (Madmitch)for sending me an extra compensator which had stretched from the 3mm of a new one to 16mm
Also Dan i received your old compensator safely this morning and you are now on the returns list cheers Arctic. Couple of updated photo's below of how these compensators stretch through the use of the mild steel used and how the bar pulls and bends round to create the gap on the compensator which in turn renders them almost useless and needs to be adjusted so often but still not get the required effect our cars deserve, the stainless steel one is a one time fit job done. You can see from the photo below how the rear left compenstor as stretched and pulled the mild steel bar round to create a 16mm gap when in fact the gap should be that of 3mm as in the front right compensator which is new, left front is the stainless steel modified compensator which will not stretch again ever. In this photo the right back compensator as stretched to 12mm the average after seeing almost 180 compensators now is 10mm from a (new compensator 3mm) with these handbrakes there is only a 5mm adjustment, so once past that your handbrake will not be holding efficent and will need changing. Arctic.

Artic,
I will want one. My project is in various bits at the moment. I have tried to get the rear door carpet clips off but I am not sure as to how they slide off. Any further advice would be appreciated as I can be a bit heavy handed & do not want to break them - there is enough broken already !!! When I have it off I will post you mine & you can send me one by return if you have them already made up so you will not be waiting for me to send the old one on. I am in no hurry as its a major project & I still have nearly two years before I plan to have her back on the road. Regards CMPQS. |

Whoa there Steve, I was just asking the price mate.
I was only asking, not trying to cause trouble at all. It was the "PM me for a price" I was wondering about that's all. I was talking to a parent at my sons school about his dodgy handbrake and told him about your mod. Was going to point him in your direction but he doesn't even own a PC.. I think people need to stop assuming any question asked on the forum lately is an excuse to start an argument

As its not being kept quite once i have had a PM i set out in the email reply the brake down of parts services used ie electric grinding wheels hacksaw blades drill bits etc i am not assuming anything the post is inviting people to turn the thread into a farce like some other threads have been turned into instead of sticking to what it is help to get your handbrake as we would like them. Back on track i have several ready which can be posted out from Monday to Thursday should anyone like one. I am also considering later this year supplying these at nano meeting only where i can assisit members in the fitting of the compensator that gives me the ultimate tag/tab on the where abouts of the old compensator and cuts out the postal costs, and losses which occur I thank you all for your co-operation in this task Arctic.
