Default Fair point but £420

Went to get a takeaway this eveing went into Dominoes came out 15mins later and joy of joys my beautiful tourer had collected a clamp for parking in a private bay. Now i have to admit i didnt look it just looked like the parking you get outside these places, and i was illegally parked iam not going to argue about that, and although i would not be happy a fine of £50 or £100 i could understand but our fine worked out:
£200 clamp release
£150 for towaway truck cancellation
£ 50 for out of hours
and 5% for payment by card, Total £420,apparantly a tow truck is automatically called and the £150 is for the cancellation, and we all know there never was a tow truck involved, if abusive language is used thats automatically £50 so best to keep my mouth shut and if you dont call the company within 1/2 theres a £50 for every 1/2 hour the clamp is in place.
I was wrong i took the parking area for granted but surely this is just profiteering, and if i said too much then i bet that would have been abusive behaviour. but surley not £420

If you were to find yourself one of the many hapless victims of London clampers, you could call Angle-Grinder Man to come by with a big, mean angle grinder and cut right through the clamp. Whether or not you agree with his purpose, you have to agree that's one way to make a difference.

I've been told you can cut them off but you must replace anything you break (ie if you cut the padlock with bolt cutters and leave a new one there with the clamp) they can't prosecute you because you didn't damage anything

....Whether this is true or not I don't know but I would rather risk it than pay £420!
