Update on Ken's Update on the Haynes Meet
Further to Ken's update above, here is just a bit more information about the venue itself. Ken and I both went to take a look at the place and also take a look at the parking situation - apologies that it has taken me just over a week to get this out but work has kept me busy!
Anyway, Haynes is a nice place! Starting with the entrance: Our cars will be in the area directly outside the main entrance and further up onto the driveway - parking is going to be tight, but we are confident we can conjure up space (there is also an overflow space available to us if we are really successful and huge numbers turn up!) There is a nice well stockled gift-shop inside the main entrance and a restaurant alongside. There is much to see inside, such as, the red room (or is it hall?) Caught sight of a few MG/Rover bits and bobs such as: and But plenty of other cars to see, old ... and new ... For the kiddies there is somewhere to spend mum and dad's hard earned cash: Outside the main entrance (to one side) the sporty cars will be on show and further along is the track where if you pay up and queue, you can get to ride in one of the 'dream cars' on the track (and no, we are NOT talking about Alex's car!!! ) Everyone turning up will be handed a card/ ticket at the gate and that will admit you and your family/ mates at the (cheaper) entrance rates Ken quoted at the beginning of this thread. We might even take a photo of each car as it comes in as we did in Beaulieu! (if you are even more patient) As parking is REALLY going to be tight I would ask that you be patient and follow the instructions and let the club marshal park you up good and proper ... or else!!! Its going to be fun - see you all there!
