v6 road tax
Hi. Not been on for a while as I did a very stupid thing 2 years ago. I sold my mgzt 2.5 160 and got a volvo c70 turbo, nice car but now im having real problems with not being able to stop looking for another zt. I know you have prob heard this many times before but I keep getting different stories. Will the tax on the v6 be going up to over £400. If not is it likely to do so in the not to distant future. As if I get another zt it will be a second car so low miles and not used all the time. Many thanks Dave.

I think only the very late cars will have the £400+ tax band……someone will be along shortly to confirm the date but I think its post 2005 registered cars where this will become an issue?

the only v6's that'll be 400+ is the ones that were registered after march 23rd so some 06 plates and then everything after that

As above, the emissions rate for vehicles with 201g/km or more changed on the 23rd March 2006 (06 plate) to a higher rate. In this case the KV6 falls into tax band L meaning it's £475.00 a year or £261.25.
Cars registered before then and with an emission rating of 186g/km or higher had the lower rate... Also known as tax band K. |

Sorry to go all political but the only time I would worry about road tax going up to £400+ for the v6 is if labour came back in power at the next election. They were talking about huge tax rises last time they were in power and then quietly scrapped them when everyone complained about the retrospective tax..

Thanks for your help
Thanks guys. It has cleared up that issue. I will resume my quest for a v6 190 zt. Sooner the better I think as withdrawal is getting quite unbearable. Dave.
