After a v8 am I being realistic
After a couple years apart from my old v6, still safely in the membership fold here I might be in a position to buy a v8 probably an mg.
I just don't know if the budget I have is sensible to get me a good car. I'd like a v8, not worried about Se spec or not but would like LPG. Mileage not too worried about this as i see they are good for serious mileage. The budget would be around 6k but will this get me a good LPG v8? I have seen some go for this, but is it too risky? Just a bit concerned about why some are so cheap? I guess at 2-2.5 k for the system a cheap petrol v8 might be an idea but again will I find a well looked after v8 for 4-4.5k? That won't cost me a wedge if cash the first time I take it to a good rover specialist garage? Any advice welcome Paul |

I'm watching that thread avidly! I guess my question is that there seem to be very few lpgs in my price range and I'm wondering if I'm actually bring realistic or if I just need to be a bit patient and see what comes up? Idina want to buy something that is cheap if it's going to cost a bomb to sort out

My V8 is LPG, it's my second V8. It costs the same to run as my diesel, so I'm happy.
I couldn't afford to run it without the LPG, but the only down side is LPG garages are a bit thin on the ground, so I fill up when ever I see one. My car is just coming upto 150,000 miles

Most of the cars for sale are WAY over priced and as there are currently over 30 cars for sale, asking prices WILL come down! You may want to PM me for my thoughts are their values! |

The prices seem to be holding nicely at the moment so.............. Go ahead and PM the guru on V8 prices. Whilst you're at it, ask him why he hasn't got one yet. The V8 pricing issue, or some opinions around it, is wearing thin now. If you want some real advice on the V8, join www.two-sixties.com And the 30 mentioned for sale do include the LHD as well |

Of course it's not in the interest of a V8 owner to keep talking the prices up, is it! |

I think you should take advantage of Mr Doodles negotiating skills. Give him your budget and let him source a car that meets with your requirements.
Everyone would be happy? |

Don't Get hung up on Lpg.
You can get that fitted any day of the year. And an existing Lpg tank may be coming to the end of its ten year life. Why not buy a new shiny Lpg kit instead? In short, you need to know what you are buying. Particularly with what you are after. |

Mine will be up For Sale on this forum and on the TwoSixties next week.
She is a MK1 in Mirage Blue. No.155. Currently on less than 49,750, but will rise before sold. Does not have LPG fitted. PM me for further details. Reason for selling is I have had my fun and I prefer driving my 1.8t.
