![]() Very disturbing,
On the positive side, it won't happen overnight, On the political side, some think the EU's self implosion is on the cards. On the practical side, at least our "traditional" cars ARE repairable. On the futuristic side, electric cars are far from being the certain future, at the moment.

![]() They may try to do something similar in years to come, but thats a long way off. Traders may be targeted first ,but trying to police the private d.I.Y is a different matter. The weak link will be spare parts . I dont think china will be stopping selling parts anytime soon , as this may be one of your last options of buying. Not to worry as most of us will be pushing up daisies by then....

![]() There's a big push in Brussels at present to close deals before the EU wide ballot in June. They want a 55% drop in emissions before 2030 & a 90% drop in emissions before 2040.
![]() "The Commission projects that 60% of cars will be electrified by 2040. This is a huge step in the right direction, but meeting this target will require new policies on top of the existing car CO2 standards. Forthcoming T&E analysis will show that the required CO2 emissions cuts can be reached by accelerating electrification of new cars instead of feeding the legacy fleet with inefficient and more expensive e-fuels or biofuels. As the Commission’s communication rightly points out, these fuels should be prioritised for the aviation and maritime sector. Additional measures to accelerate the uptake of electric cars in Europe to 60% are needed, T&E says. These include a binding target for all new corporate cars and vans to be 100% electric by 2030, combustion car scrappage schemes and retrofitting of older petrol and diesel cars into electric vehicles. In addition, a stop to new road building would put a cap on car activity. Scrapping old fossil cars and recycling materials in them while accelerating the demand for electric alternatives offers a huge opportunity for the EU’s car industry, T&E adds." https://www.euractiv.com/section/cli...tightrope-act/ https://www.transportenvironment.org...arget-at-risk/

![]() The ongoing strategy is repeated ad infinitum:
Make what you want to replace (for exponential continued growth in financial affairs) a subject of restriction of available fuel/repairs/personal travel/zoning/availability. There will then be no choice but to comply with with what one-handed financial jugglers deem essential. There is no merit in such developments, it's marketing stupid. Can anyone give accurate figures, reliably compared, showing any difference between wet fuel used per hundred miles continual journey with a similar sized EV over the same distance at the same time? Please? The either lie, fallacy, or pseudo religion, is coloured green.
