Steering now working ok

It also has the usual hidden setup menu where you can select the GPS software to run.. so will try Tomtom .

So Mio pocket probably Ok too from here . ..not tried it yet ..

I've only failed on the Freeview .. but the signal round here is weak ..

1 mile up the road and it all OK on a Piece of bent copper wire !

Would *love* to know how this works with TomTom... Seans unit's look great, but north of £300 is too much no matter how I play it.

If you do get TomTom working, can you record a video for me please? £215 is almost bearable...

EDIT - Do the steering wheel controls work with this?

Guys, I have been around the "Biz" awhile. As Objectively as I possibly can. You CAN DO BETTER ON THIS TYPE FOR YOURSELVES . If you guys want to venture into the Universal type, let me get you a Nice one ? More Up to date features, Close to your Price range.

TomTom 6 Will work on these but very Out of Date. Tom Tom 7 will load but is Full of glitches.

Sorry if I have Overstepped or stepped on toes, Just Offering my knowledge. Just tell me to go away and I will.

A Few Examples..... And within your Price range.

Detachable Panels Maybe for Security reasons?

3D Graphics and Lots of neat Features.

Hi,
I've just taken delivery of an Erising ES908D 7" 2 Din unit. There are no instructions on actually mounting it on the car. Any info you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Its tricky to explain, but you do need to make some sort of tray fixed in to slide it in on or bracketry .. you will only get a couple of angle brackets
with screws in the kit. Not lot of use without some other Mountings.

Heres my old thing i knocked up out of a plastic tray.. it just sits at the front , the rear is notched for support to sit on the metal ledge at the back and its just held in by the single screw that originally held the IR adaptor box.
The sound proofing is cut back a fair bit , this was to fit in the original Xtrons unit, but the Erising is a bit shorter .

never got round to painting it .

Not figured out a way to hold it back in yet ? but its quite heavy, so is n't going to fall out easily .

Might put some screws in the side of the unit , and shallow notches in the plastic tray, so it can slide in an drop into the slots .( and hopefullye get it out again ?

................
Fixing it in properly is the most tricky bit , but I 've not seen anything in the forums about doing it or what methods people have used .

We all seem to go on and on an on about the Software, wiring etc !! nowt about the basics ?

Unless you've bought a Rover look unit, but then not sure what supports the rear end ??

Chris
