Get your camera off auto and set your metering to spot Sir
That should allow you to get a much faster shutter speed allowing for the highlights to be retained and the moon to be much sharper in the frame

Hi Kennyeth these two images were taken tonight
1P9171038_DxO by Michael Bloor, on Flickr this was taken with an olympus E-3 on a tripod using a remote shutter release. The settings were manual iso 1000 focal length 500mm metering center weighted aperture f6.3 shutter speed 1/640 second this second shot used the same settings except for:- iso 800 shutter speed 1/250 second both shots were focused manually also 2P9171039_DxO by Michael Bloor, on Flickr try these settings for a start & adjuust your iso & shutter speed until you are happy with the results. MeteringMode Spot. I were trying to get the clouds more than the Moon, I did take dozens from all different settings. I appreciate your input, thanks. Ken. |
