Parking aid ECU
Rover Con SE Auto 2.5 KV6
I have a faulty Parking Aid ECU I obtained a replacement from Rimmers. Original No YWC 105180, New No YWC 107190. The new one does not work at all- not even a beep when engaging reverse. I am told that the new part is interchangeable with the old one but that does not seem to be the case. I have tried 3 new units from Rimmers, all with the same result. The original unit works partially, giving extra beeps when nothing near the sensors Last edited by Johnrover; 14th January 2009 at 11:34.. |

You could try giving the sensors a good clean - muck and water on them will give the problem you have. |

Strange coincidence this.
I have a fully functioning Parking Aid (after repairing some really bad factory wiring behind the bumper), and a new (spare) ECU. The new ECU doesn't work in the existing fully functional setup??? Strange. Mick |

Thanks for that. Did yours beep for 4 or 5 seconds when first in reverse?
Or was it like mine, still working fairly well when parking up to a wall or something, giving the continuous beep when within about a foot, but mine also gives false warnings when nothing is there. Doid yours do that before you fixed the wiring? JohnRover |
