Default Parking aid ECU

Rover Con SE Auto 2.5 KV6

I have a faulty Parking Aid ECU
I obtained a replacement from Rimmers. Original No YWC 105180, New No
YWC 107190.
The new one does not work at all- not even a beep when engaging reverse.
I am told that the new part is interchangeable with the old one but that does not seem to be the case.
I have tried 3 new units from Rimmers, all with the same result.
The original unit works partially, giving extra beeps when nothing near the sensors

Tell you what, if you subscribe to this club (£3.00 per year) I will send you a brand new YWC105180 free of charge!

SAme thing happened on my Tourer - turned out to be a duff sensor.

You could try giving the sensors a good clean - muck and water on them will give the problem you have.

Strange coincidence this.

I have a fully functioning Parking Aid (after repairing some really bad factory wiring behind the bumper), and a new (spare) ECU.
The new ECU doesn't work in the existing fully functional setup???
Strange.

Thanks for that. Did yours beep for 4 or 5 seconds when first in reverse?
Or was it like mine, still working fairly well when parking up to a wall or something, giving the continuous beep when within about a foot, but mine also gives false warnings when nothing is there. Doid yours do that before you fixed the wiring?
