Default v8 engine and gearbox ecu

Hi guys bit of a strange first post but basically we purchased a brand new rover 75 v8 engine and gearbox from the factory a good few years ago and we are now getting round to fitting it in a car. It turns out we have the engine ecu but not the gearbox ecu and im not sure how to go about getting the gearbox ecu I need, is there anyone breaking any or have any info on where I could get this ecu?

welcome along.....

Try www.two.sixties.com for more info.

Auto box ECU's are no longer available, engine ECU is a fard item so you might be lucky.

Tonybubble is rebuilding the first ZT260 auto car and is having no end of problems.

auto box is based on a ford unit but different ratio's, You might find a paired ford engine and box ECU's may work as it's a non MGR application

I know the manual has a different 5th gear ratio.

Wasn't aware of a difference in the auto-box.

I think this is right, having worried about this for the rescue V8 but I am sure Tony might check in and answer also.

The issue is that the ECU was re-written turning the Mustang overdrive into the 4th gear on the 75 V8 the ford security software was changed also so that it is very difficult to get even a virgin Ford mustang ECU to work on the car. As far as I understand there is no ability to get T4 to program it either

I see so basically you need either a mustang engine and gearbox ecu or a paired engine and gearbox ecu from a 75?
